Upload Your Own Songs: Turn Any MIDI or MusicXML into a Lesson

Have a MIDI or MusicXML file? Upload it and instantly get color-coded notes, speed control, and all our learning tools.

Bring Your Own Music

Our library has thousands of songs, but maybe your piano teacher gave you a specific piece, or you found a MIDI file online that isn't in our collection. No problem, upload it and we'll turn it into a full interactive lesson with all the features you know and love.

Supported File Formats

  • MusicXML (.xml, .musicxml), The standard format for sheet music. Exported by most notation software like MuseScore, Finale, and Sibelius.
  • MIDI (.mid, .midi), The universal format for digital music. Found on many free sheet music sites.
  • How to Upload

  • Sign in to your account
  • Go to your Profile page
  • Find the Upload section
  • Drag and drop your file or click to browse
  • The file is automatically converted, usually takes just a few seconds
  • Your song appears in My Uploads with all features ready
  • What You Get After Uploading

Your uploaded song gets the same treatment as every song in our library:

  • Color-coded notes in all three viewing modes (Lead Sheet, Bars Sheet, Notes Sheet)
  • Speed control (50% to 100%)
  • Background music playback
  • Progress tracking and completion marking
  • PDF export for printing
  • Add to playlists like any other song
  • Public or Private

When you upload a song, you choose its visibility:

  • Public, Anyone can find and play your song. It appears in search results and on the Community page.
  • Private, Only you can see and play it. Perfect for personal practice pieces.
  • You can change the visibility at any time from your profile page.

    Tips for Best Results

  • MusicXML gives better results than MIDI for note names and lyrics
  • Maximum file size is 10MB
  • Files with clear melody lines convert best
  • If your file has multiple tracks, the converter picks the main melody
  • Where to Find Files

  • MuseScore.com, Huge library of free MusicXML files
  • IMSLP.org, Public domain classical music
  • Your piano teacher, Ask them to export your lesson pieces as MusicXML
  • Notation software, Create your own arrangements and export them
  • Go to your profile and upload a song now!
