met a (D)new friend

on the (G)play ground at school

be tween the (C)tires and the swings.

But she came (D)home with tear filled

eyes,

when she (G)said to me, “Dad dy,

Well, I just (D)brushed it off at

first,

’cause I did n’t know how much my (C)lit tle girl had been hurt

or the things that she had

seen.

when I (D)said,

And she said,

to the class room,

laid her (D)head down

that (C)night to go to sleep.

As I stepped out the room, I (D)heard her say

a (C)prayer so soft and sweet.

dad

I had the worst

night of sleep in years,

as I (G)tried to think of a way to calm her

fears;

But when we (G)got to school on Mon day, I heard the (D)news.

The (G)lump in my throat grew (D)big ger with ev ’ry (C)ques tion that she asked

un til I felt the tears run down my
